New Players

Eligibility

Any active undergraduate or graduate student of Florida State University student is eligible to join the club. No prior experience is necessary. There are no cuts or tryouts and any player in good standing practices and plays matches. The club welcomes new players year-round, but the best time to join is at the start of either the fall or spring semester.

Players that have graduated from high school in the last five years are eligible to compete for FSU's First XV in the USA Rugby, Division 1 National Collegiate Competition. Club members who do not meet that criteria are eligible to play for one of FSU's reserve grade squads. FAMU students, TCC students, FSU alumni and other community members are NOT eligible to join the club as per University policy. Prospective rugby players either currently in Tallahassee or who are moving to Tallahassee who are not or won't be FSU students are encouraged to contact and join the Tallahassee Men's Rugby Club, which was re-established in 2009.

Practice Information

Practices for the 2017/2018 school year are at 7:30 - 9:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at the FSU Rec SportsPlex.

A car pool is available at the Leach Fitness Center at 6:45 PM for students who need transportation to and from practice.

Practice kit is a white t-shirt, preferably FSU Rugby branded, black rugby shorts, and black socks.
